Beginnings
I was born in Zimbabwe, and it is where I grew up and went to school, from my first years of primary school through to the end of high school.
Those years gave me more than an education. They gave me a sense of where I come from, and many of the convictions that still guide me: that you show up for people, that you keep your word, and that whatever you are given, you are expected to pass something on.

Learning
After school I went to university in South Africa, where I studied law. Law gave me a profession, but it also gave me something more lasting: a way of reading carefully, separating facts from conclusions, hearing the other side honestly and respecting process even when it is slow.
I remain a student by temperament. I read widely, across history, theology, leadership and economics, and I am most interested in ideas that change how ordinary people live on an ordinary Monday.

Journeys
After university I set out on a number of journeys, some in law and some in enterprise. Each taught me something different about people, responsibility and what it takes to build something that lasts.
In time those journeys led me to Australia, where I now live. Moving countries has its own way of teaching you: that courage usually looks undramatic, that belonging has to be built, and that starting again is something most of us will do more than once.
Home, though, is my family. I am married to my lovely wife, and we are blessed with two boys, both in junior school. They keep life full, loud and joyful, and they keep me honest about what really matters.

Faith & values
I am a Christian, and faith is my first passion and the steadiest part of how I make sense of work, responsibility and hope. It has taught me that people carry a dignity no system gives them and no setback can take away, that rest is a form of trust, and that faithfulness in small things is not small.
Alongside faith, I care deeply about enterprise and the law: about building things well, and about the fairness and order that let people flourish. The values I try to live by are simple to state and hard to keep: tell the truth, do excellent work, be generous with what you know, look after your family, and leave every place a little better than you found it.

Why this platform exists
I built this space for ideas, reflection, leadership, faith and personal development, and for the conversations that come before meaningful community work. Its guiding idea is simple: ideas should inspire, inspiration should lead to action, and action should improve lives.
It is not a campaign or a charity. It is a place to think carefully and in public, and an invitation to anyone who would like to think alongside me. Over time I hope it grows into practical work in education and mentorship, beginning modestly and growing only as fast as it can be done well.
